Ilse P. Frauendorf was born 8 October 1912 in Dessau Anhal, Federal Republic of Germany. She married Otto Harold Otterson
(1894-1985), an engineer with Douglas Aircraft, in 1934. In the 1940s and 1950s, they lived on an uninhabited island in the
San Joaquin-Sacramento Delta. Ilse died 26 July 2005, while living in Pismo Beach, California.
